What Don't I Like?

I don't have a least favorite food. I just don't. I've never meet a food I didn't like. Healthy, unhealthy, Asian, Mexican, Mediterranean, seriously I'll take it all! Take my meals recently for example:

It's a tradition for my Dad and I to eat Pho together. If you've never tried this Vietnamese delight you are in for a treat when you do! Thin slices of beef, noodles, basil, all in a decadent broth-yum!

Thanksgiving was a Portuguese and American Combination!

A Charlottesville favorite-Basil! Basil is a fabulous Mediterranean restaurant. If you need any convincing I think this photo of my chicken skewer will speak for itself. 

Another Cville favorite-Lemongrass, a cozy Thai spot. Drunken noodles are my comfort food of choice!

An Overstuffed Thanksgiving

My godmother hosted Thanksgiving at her home this year. She always puts so much effort into making delicious food and decorating beautifully. It was low key-just my family, godparents, and grandparents. The menu? Not so low key. To please everyone and merge Thanksgiving food with Portuguese food we end up having a lot of doubles. Turkey and roasted pork. Roasted potatoes and mashed potatoes. Stuffing and paella! I'm not complaining-I'm guilty of eating it all and going back for seconds! 

Immediately upon arrival I went straight to the kitchen to see what was cooking! 

As usual I was caught playing with the pooch.

Caught in the act! My Dad was also guilty of trying to sneak some tidbits.

Finally the turkey was ready and my uncle was in charge of carving.

After I ate I spent some quality time with the family,

Chatted with my grandma

Goofed around with my uncle 

Helped my godmother make her delicious chocolate pecan pie

Pumpkin pie-my favorite!

Vanilla ice cream, pumpkin pie, and my collapsed chocolate pecan pie.

and then the tummy ache started. Hope everyone had just as overstuffed of a Thanksgiving as I did!

Today I am thankful for my wonderful family and friends, my pup, my good health, my education, my wonderful blog followers, and  all the blessings God has given me! Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family!

Life According to My iPhone

It's been a busy week leading up to Thanksgiving. Between a paper due today, an exam tomorrow before I leave, and some other craziness the last week has been a whirlwind! All of my roommates and I have had beyond hectic schedules, and we all are ready for a break! So here is what I've been doing lately according to my iPhone:


I've been at the library way too much.

Starbucks Christmas cups are here! Caffeine is a way of life

The Equestrian and I have the same pencil cases-us matching yet again. 

I might have gone out when I shouldn't-but hey UVA won the game! I had to celebrate!

It was a casual night and we didn't get too dressed up but still had so much fun!

I've been eating out way too much.

Take it Away is a UVA classic. Their gourmet sandwiches may be a bit expensive but the bread and swiss cheese are to die for!

Lemongrass is a cozy Thai restaurant. These drunken noodles are some of my favorite comfort food. 

Michael's Bistro is hidden above a casual late night spot. Their pecan crusted salmon this past weekend was delish!






Well it's about time for me to get some fresh air, eat healthy, exercise and sleep! Have a wonderful Thanksgiving everyone!
